Aren’t all Dent Companies and Technicians the same?
Unfortunately no. To put it in layman’s terms, the PDR industry has seen a massive influx of technician and companies in the past 10 years. There is a small % of these new comers that have spent the time and money to be trained properly. It takes years, and a lot of patience to become a well-rounded technician. Paintless Dent Repair has one of the highest failure rates than any other business trades. We only get one shot at fixing your dings, dents, and hail damage correctly. Educate yourself on the company you are going to use. It can cost you in the long run using a PDR company that’s not up to par. Competition Dents has been around for over 17 years giving our customers a quality option for their PDR needs.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes – indeed we do. Your repair will have a lifetime warranty for as long as you own your vehicle. We not only offer a warranty but a 100% satisfaction guarantee or no charge applied.
Will a hail claim make my insurance rates increase?
No!! Insurance companies classify claims into two different general categories: (1) Collision (2) Comprehensive. Hail damage is a comprehensive Claim and is considered an act of God. Acts of God will not raise your insurance rates. So it would be silly not to get your vehicle repaired.
Do I have a hail claim?
You would be surprised in most cases the average amount of hail damage is around $2,000 and even higher. Many dents aren’t readily visible to the untrained eye, especially when viewed outdoor in the sunlight or even just a little dust on your car. Our professional trained damage appraisers will inspect your vehicle free of charge and advise you of hidden damage that could cost you later when you turn in your lease or trade in or sell your vehicle.
How do I deal with a private hail claim?
Call your Insurance agent ASAP and let them know your car was hailed on. See if they will give you a claim number over the phone. We need a claim number to start a damage report. If not you can bring your car straight over to our repair facility and we will file the claim for you. You just have to let them know your dropping it off with Competition Dents for your hail repair. This will save you a lot of time from running around getting three bids you don’t have to get. Just remember by law you can take your car where you want to have it repaired. Your insurance company will always try to steer you towards one of their direct repair facilities. A “CAT” or Catastrophe tent might be set up in town. If you had your car adjusted by the CAT team the adjustment might not be correct, that is ok. The “CAT” tent is just trying to get a claim number on each car. This is how they connect you and your damaged car together. We can supplement your car with the claim number to get the proper adjustment on your damage when you drop it off. This is why a CAT team was set up in your town, to start the process for your claim. Call me to set up an appointment for a fast and free estimate. 1-888-792-DENT 3368
How does my deductible work?
Your deductible (is a set dollar amount) is your agreement with your insurance company of what you would be liable for. If your deductible is $500.00 and your claim is $3,500.00 you will receive a check minus your $500.00 deductible for a total of $3,000.00 from you insurance.
Competition Dents will work with you on your hail claim deductibles.
What if a PDR company says they can’t fix my dent?
Most technician or companies will push away from challenging larger damage or say, “it’s not a job for PDR”. Let Competition Dents give you a second opinion. Every dent is different, believe it or not, sometimes the smaller dents can be harder than the larger ones. It really comes down to the location of the damage. Most technicians don’t have the patients to finish extreme damage. It will take hours looking at the same panel, and will look worse before it looks better with larger damage. Competition Dents specializes in Large or extreme damage that can be repaired using Paintless Dent Repair.
So PDR is my best option for ding or dent removal?
From a minor door ding, hail damage to extreme large dents, Paintless Dent Removal is a proven and preferred repair method by nearly all insurance companies. The process you choose to repair your damaged automobile can significantly impact its value. Nothing reduces the value of a vehicle more than repainting the factory finish or replacing original manufactures matching parts. PDR obviously is the best and first option you should consider before making a claim. Competition Dents is a Paintless Dent Removal specialist. We offer a written lifetime warranty with a 100% satisfaction guarantee or no charge is applied. Is Paintless Dent Removal better than painting?
Yes, but only when Paintless Dent Removal is performed by a highly experienced and trained PDR technician. The results are second to none compared to any other repair methods – including a body shop. Your factory or custom finish stays original. PDR utilizes surgically fabricated tools designed to gain access behind the damaged panel. Nothing devalues a vehicle’s worth more than repainting a factory finish. If panels are also replaced, often with non-OEM panels, further devaluation occurs. Paintless Dent Removal returns immediate value to your vehicle, restores its original pre-damaged value, and provides the closest repair possible to the damage never occurring in the first place. Of course, you’ll have to be cautions about who you choose to perform your PDR repair. Not everyone who offers PDR is good at PDR. PDR is like a good or bad plastic surgery. Do your research and be cautious whom you choose to repair your vehicle.
Is repainting all that bad?
Did you know that all of the your vehicles exterior parts have matching VIN numbers? When you choose PDR you are choosing to maintain the original parts and paint on your vehicle. You only have one factory finish and it’s extremely hard to match the color and texture of your factory paint. Factory paint is usually applied and baked at high temperatures before any rubber, plastic, or cloth parts are installed. Once these parts are installed, a repainted vehicle will never be able to be cured the same way a factory finish is resulting in an inferior finish. Even with the best body shops in the world, Paintless Dent Removal remains undisputed. With PDR, your factory or custom finish stays original without jeopardizing mismatch color, over spray or uneven texture. This can be a dead give away when you want to resale your vehicle.
What is Carfax?
Once your vehicle goes through the claim process and is repaired at a “body shop”, your vehicle is reported to CarFax. It’s a detailed history report about your vehicle. A smart buyer who looks at your vehicle history report may suspect your vehicle has been in an accident. This can jeopardize the sale of your vehicle and reduce the resale value significantly. With Paintless Dent Removal, your vehicle maintains its factory finish without a CarFax history report. In other words, no evidence is shown on either paper work or your vehicle’s finish when you choose PDR for your repair.
I have a low deductible. Why not just make a claim and see a body shop?
This is true only for non-hail claims. For what it’s worth you might consider making a claim. Sometimes it can be covered under your comprehensive policy. You’ll then be able to compare the value of PDR to the value of a conventional repair. For the most part, it’s not worth making a claim for a dent that can be handled by a qualified PDR company. So why risk the hassle of paper work, a loss of time without your vehicle and the risk of your insurance rates going up? In the long run, you save time & money without the long process of a hassled claim and being without your vehicle for 3-5 days or more on minor repairs.
Can you give me an estimate through e-mail or text?
Yes, but know that it is just a rough estimate. Once I see it in person the price can go up or down. Picture don’t do damage justice I really need to see it with my own eyes; this will give you an idea of what it might cost. If this is a hail damage claim I must see this in person, there is too much damage to give an estimate through email or text. Please feel free to email us at competitiondents@gmail.com or use your camera phone and text us your photos directly for a no obligation quick quote at 1-815-970-2804.
Is Paintless Dent Repair safe for my car?
Yes by all means… PDR is a better process than a body shop. We are a green business; we don’t use any chemicals or have any hazardous waist to dispose of. There will be no body fillers, sanding, painting or blending of paint into other panels. We also don’t harm your e-coat witch is a protective coat your car is dipped in from the manufacture to help in harsh weather and the environment you live in. We use no chemicals or extreme temperatures. Your factory paint job is the best finish you will ever have.
Will Paintless Dent Repair crack my paint?
No, if it is your factory paint (the paint that was put on by the manufacture when it was built). Today’s paint has flex agents and are difficult to break. If the paint is not broken prior to the repair it will not crack while being repaired.
Do you use dry ice or suction to remove my dents?
No we do not, that is a myth. We use sophisticated steel rods after we gain access behind the panels on your car. Then we apply pressure from behind. In some cases we use a glue pull method for dents that have no access to the backside of the panel. This is not a do it yourself job at home. PDR takes a lot of practice and a highly trained technician to repair a dent on our vehicle. Don’t make it worse and try this yourself, you could crack your paint and now need a body shop for your repair. I have seen this happen way to many times.
