Screen Shot 2016-01-14 at 11.54.18 PMRemoving dents from tanks and fenders on motorcycles can be very tricky. Often access on gas tanks can be an issue, the thickness of the steel tank can play a big part in the repair. Fenders can also be tricky depending on the shape of the fender and how close to the tire it is mounted. You may also have a custom paint job that is not replicable. That is where PDR is the most irreplaceable art in the industry.

In some cases, we can repair a tank or fender on the bike, but it makes for a more complex repair and regulates our leverage points. If you own a Harley Davidson, we will need your tank off the bike. If you own an import or sport bike, we have a better chance of a repair with it on the bike depending on dent placement. Newer bikes have fuel injection. There are large access panels so the fuel injection pumps can be accessed inside the gas tanks, this can help in a repair with a larger access port. Most filler necks are small or have long filler neck inserts, this brings their own challenges. Your dent in your gas tank is carefully removed with custom designed steel rods that gain access behind the dent. We gently apply pressure against the damaged area. Slowly your dent is removed without harming your factory or custom finish. At Competition Dents we offer years of experience when it comes to your precious motorcycle gas tanks and fenders.

The nice thing with gas tanks, and fenders is you don’t have to be in the same state to use my specialties. You can mail your tank or fender to me and I use a special vice to repair your tank or fenders. The vice is a unique vice to our industry. It allows me to securely bolt and or clamp your tank securely into the vice. I can then put your tank in optimal positions needed for the proper leverage and tool pressure or tool tip placement for a repair.
